Luck of the Latvians

Loved these St. Patrick's Day pictures. A leprechaun (or two?) made a mess of our kitchen but left some Lucky Charms, which was kind after leaving little pots of gold glitter everywhere. Then we left BEFORE the crack of dawn to check out Lucky the Leprechaun tree at the red bridge park to see if any small green men left anything, and they did! Rainbow candles, more pots of gold, and a tiny green scarf! It was a spooky/cool foggy morning.

Then it was off to the local farmer's market where they had baby goats!! Oh my, the cuteness! They were letting us hold them, they were 3 days old and bleating (is that what goats do?), nuzzling our necks for milk, and just so flipping cute. They were selling goat milk soap, and the stand JUST NEXT to theirs was selling...goat meat. The sign said "Goat meat - it's better for you than chicken!" Oh my.

Later that evening, we celebrated the January/February/March birthdays in my family - it was a gorgeous night and a great time with people we love.

Just a couple other pictures - nothing cuter than the mighty beans with two ponytails. I mean, seriously.

Buckle Fractures

Smith had an epic tangle with another soccer player during a tournament and ended up with a buckle fracture. He went out in style, for sure! He'll be ready to play again soon, which makes him and his dad happy.

Meanwhile, a great header and some photos from the hospital - his hair started out as a fauxhawk, but boy was it windy that day!

Tate and company were using a blanket as a kite and running all around (with NO shoes, NO jacket - hat was forced and she even tried to put it on the little tutu-ed munchkin behind her until I caught her and said SHE had to wear it, not that it had to be worn by whomever!).

Now it's just as warm as can be - crazy no winter, balmy St. Patrick's day. More photos of that fun day coming - we had a nasty little leprechaun at our house!

Coaster love

Just finished this beauty a week or so ago, took all of an hour to make and it makes me want to make MORE MORE MORE! But alas, I only have one mug of coffee or one glass of water going at a time, so making more seems a little crazy. I'm trying not to build this into a teacher gift bonanza - or a St. Patrick's day event...I tend towards obsession on crafts.

Two teeth down...she lost her second bottom one, tooth fairy was a success (she left a note asking what the name is of our tooth fairy, and the answer was "Frank, but Lillian usually has [our neighborhood]". Silly fairies! The next night, Tate put both her lost teeth under her pillow, hoping Frank or Lillian would be fooled or take pity on her and leave a little more cash...Smith's response? "That NEVER would have occurred to me to do that!" Sometimes I worry his 5 year younger sister is teaching him bad habits!

Great Wolf Lodge

Finally got around to celebrating Tate's 5th birthday, just a couple weeks before her 6th! She wanted to go to Great Wolf Lodge, and what a time we had! That place is great, perfect for the kids. It's interesting how comfortable you end up feeling by the end of the day, walking around in just your bathing suit. Tate walked up to David and me several times and squished our bellies - nothing makes you as humble as your child.

We stayed in such a fun room, the Wolf Den or something, and overall just had a really great, family two days. Although, David overheard one family talking about staying their 5 days...don't know that I could do that!

They had these cool wristbands that were your room key, and our two linked in with our credit cards, so we would wave our arm in front of a vending machine and POOF! or wave it in front of the $7 ice cream robot and POOF! Very fun until the bill came along...
(Ice cream robot - seriously, $7 each)

Very fun weekend, and so fun packed that even Tate said "let's just do one more ride and then go, okay? I'm tired." Words seldom uttered from her!
